Basketball sensation from Louisiana State University, Angel Reese, is inaugurating a new foundation. The purpose of the Angel C. Reese Foundation is to enhance financial education and offer other resources to the upcoming generation of women in sports.
According to 21Ninety a released statement about the foundation explains that its goal is to promote equality for girls and marginalized communities through novel and influential strategies. It also aims to devise realistic solutions to address systemic issues and supply all-encompassing resources, enabling a new cohort of girls to excel in sports and seamlessly transition into the real world.
The foundation has plans to arrange basketball camps, financial literacy workshops, and scholarships, accessible to all participants. It also has intentions to host festive occasions and continuous community events.
When it comes to sponsorships, Reese knows a thing or two about getting the bag. She has earned the title of the "highest paid" player in the NCAA tournament. Reese's notable contribution to the Louisiana Women's Basketball team's maiden national championship this year has led to numerous NIL deals. With 17 NIL deals under her belt, Reese rakes in $392,000 annually from partnerships with companies such as JanSport and Xfinity. Reese has recently become the brand ambassador for Mielle Organics, a Black-owned haircare brand.
Reese's foray into beauty company deals is hardly unexpected, considering her well-known love for lashes and long nails, earning her the nickname "Bayou Barbie." In fact, Reese has even trademarked this nickname. Reese also appeared in the music video for Latto and Cardi B's "Put It On The Floor Again."
As reported by On3NIL, Reese's foundation will kick off with a "Back-to-School Giveback Block Party" scheduled for August. The event will take place at Reese's former school, Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore. During this event, Reese will distribute school supplies, backpacks, clothes, food, and essential items to children in need.
