Tabitha and Chance Brown’s “At Least You Smell Good” Comedy Series Passes 1 Million Views

Tabitha Brown and her husband, Chance Brown, are taking a lighthearted approach to fragrance with “At Least You Smell Good,” a new comedy series from their brand, Fridays with Tab & Chance. Each episode drops familiar faces into an embarrassing mishap where the one thing that survives intact is how good they smell, thanks to the brand’s signature scents, His Business and Her Business.

Since the series launched on September 25, its first two episodes have passed 1 million views and 50,000 engagements across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat and YouTube. New episodes arrive every other Friday, and the finale, “Fired,” premieres on November 6.

Tabitha Brown’s Comedy Series Drops Every Other Friday

In “Bedroom,” actress Angel Laketa Moore sends her husband, Marcus Tanksley, off to get ready for a romantic night. He puts on His Business, the brand’s signature men’s fragrance, and walks back out to find her fast asleep. In “Jogging,” Kirsty Jasper finally works up the nerve to talk to the handsome runner she passes on every morning jog, only to learn he is gay and not interested. She may have struck out, but she did it wearing Her Business, the brand’s signature women’s fragrance, in an episode that also features comedian Zainab Johnson, Nic Few and Tabitha Brown herself.

The newest episode, “Dinner,” stars Kevin “KevOnStage” Fredericks and his wife, Melissa Fredericks, the co-founders of KevOnStage Studios. Kev cooks for Melissa, making a salad for her at her request and pasta for himself. He steps out to grab the wine and comes back to an empty plate, because Melissa ate all of his pasta. Chance then appears, sprays Kev with His Business and delivers the line that gives the series its name: “At least you smell good.”

A Family Production From Concept to Camera

The series is a Brown family production from start to finish. Chance came up with the concept, he and Tabitha developed the creative together, and their daughter, Choyce Brown, directed all four spots, with every episode shot in-house by the brand’s own team.

“People like to be entertained, but they don’t like to feel like you’re selling them something. If you entertain them with humor and authentic content, they keep watching and they become customers, because they want to see you win.”

For Chance, the formula is just as straightforward. “Make quality products,” he says. “When you do, customers come back and they tell a friend.” Rather than a glossy campaign, the couple is introducing His Business and Her Business through short, funny episodes that viewers choose to watch and share with their friends.

Inside His Business and Her Business

Fridays with Tab & Chance launched as a his-and-hers fragrance pairing inspired by the couple’s love story. Her Business opens with bergamot and orange flower over cocoa and vanilla caramel, while His Business blends bergamot, grapefruit and cardamom with cocoa, suede, amber, cedarwood and musk. In true Tabitha Brown fashion, the collection is vegan, and the brand has since added a matching body wash and body lotion for each scent, available through the brand’s website and on HSN.

The fragrance line joins a growing business portfolio for Tabitha Brown, the Emmy-winning host and New York Times bestselling author who also runs her brand Donna’s Recipe alongside her business partner, Gina Woods. Chance, a retired police officer, oversees research and development for the fragrance brand the couple built together.

Production credits for all four episodes include creative by Tabitha and Chance Brown, production by Stephen Love, direction by Choyce Brown, video and photography by Tiff Tyler and Carlos Coleman, and editing by Chassidy Jade. Bacon Magazine previously celebrated Tabitha Brown’s body mist collection launch at Tab’s Beach Club.
