Black Beauty Founders: Powerhouse Platform for Black Women in Beauty

Houston, TX— Bacon Magazine spotlights the growing global recognition of Black Beauty Founders, a community-driven platform dedicated to elevating Black women entrepreneurs in the beauty industry through leadership, visibility, and connection.

Black Beauty Founders is gaining international attention for its consecutive cover stories highlighting Black women founders who are building influential beauty brands and reshaping representation in the global beauty market.

The platform’s latest cover features Tisha Thompson, founder of LYS Beauty (Love Yourself), the first Black-owned clean makeup brand to launch at Sephora. LYS Beauty is recognized for its inclusive shade ranges, skincare-infused formulas, and mission-driven approach to clean beauty, redefining accessibility and representation within the global cosmetics industry.

The previous cover spotlighted Shaina Rainford, founder and CEO of Bask & Lather Co., a rapidly growing haircare company focused on scalp health and natural hair restoration. Bask & Lather has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing beauty companies in the U.S. and is projected to exceed $100 million in revenue by 2026, making it one of the most successful Black-owned haircare brands built without outside investors.

Together, these back-to-back covers reflect a growing movement centered on Black women founders who are building successful, consumer-driven beauty businesses while expanding their reach globally.

Led by founder Danika Berry, Black Beauty Founders is more than a media platform. It operates as a business community connecting entrepreneurs through shared resources, brand exposure, and collaborative networks. The platform’s mission is to close visibility gaps for Black-owned beauty brands while strengthening pathways to growth, distribution, and long-term sustainability.

“What Danika Berry has built with Black Beauty Founders is rare — a platform that doesn’t just celebrate Black women in beauty, but actively invests in their visibility, growth, and longevity. This is what closing the gap between talent and opportunity actually looks like,” said Andrea Harris-Walker, founder and CEO of Bacon Magazine.

The organization’s work centers on Black beauty founders driving innovation across all sectors of the industry, using founder-led storytelling as a tool for brand visibility and global reach.

As the platform continues to expand its reach, Black Beauty Founders remains committed to strengthening its global network of founders, professionals, and supporters dedicated to increasing access, recognition, and opportunity for Black women in beauty.
