This question visibly upset Kanye, leading him to snatch the reporter's phone and verbally confront her for the line of questioning, which he found disrespectful. Kanye West's recent actions, including unauthorized use of Ozzy Osbourne's "War Pigs" and Donna Summer's “I Feel Love,” highlight a troubling disregard for artistic boundaries and copyright norms. The question is why does Kanye feel he can proceed anyway? Members of Ozzy Osbourne’s team stated they declined clearance amid anti-Semitic remarks made by West and declined to be associated with him. It seems like even members of Black Sabbath have to draw a line somewhere.

Despite waiting on Kanye for clearance, when he doubled back after a long period, Minaj did not approve the use, leading West to vent online. “I made that girl rewrite her verse three times for 'Monster'. I supported her career. I don't know what it is," highlighting his perceived contribution to Nicki Minaj's career. Nicki's response to Kanye's attempt to clear the song for which she ultimately denied clearance was telling: "Now regarding Kanye... (long pause). Chile. That train has left the station."
